THUNDER BAY – All aboard! After a period of downtime due to necessary repairs, Centennial Park’s Muskeg Express mini-train is set to re-open on Saturday, Aug. 7. The scenic Muskeg Express winds its way through the forest, adjoining the Current River, and is a favourite with all ages.

“We’re excited to have the Muskeg Express up and running again,” said Werner Schwar, Thunder Bay’s Supervisor of Parks and Open Space Planning. “It’s a memorable part of coming to Centennial Park for many families. Summer in Thunder Bay means a ride on the Muskeg Express.”

Rates per ride (including HST):
Five years and under: Free
Six-12 years: $1.00
Adults 13 years and older: $2.50

The Muskeg Express will run Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last ride 3:50 p.m.) weather permitting, until Sept. 5. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, which may limit ride occupancy.
