Charge laid after collision that flipped a vehicle onto its roof

A local motorist has been charged after a t-bone collision in Westfort on Tuesday that left one vehicle flipped onto its roof.

THUNDER BAY — City police have charged a motorist in connection with a serious collision in Westfort on Tuesday that flipped one vehicle onto its roof.

The accident happened just after 4:30 pm at James Street and Gore Street.

Police said the driver of a vehicle exiting Gore Street initially stopped at the intersection, then proceeded to enter James Street where the car was t-boned by another passenger vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The 62-year-old female driver of the first vehicle was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield.

No one suffered serious injuries in the incident.
