A 27-year-old man is now charged with impaired driving causing death following a weekend highway crash that killed two people.
The crash on Highway 61 took the lives of Michelle Parker and Daniel Brooks, both 28, from Thunder Bay, early Saturday morning.
On Friday OPP charged 27-year-old Tyler Boily with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
It's alleged that Boily was driving his pick-up truck south on Highway 61 early Saturday morning when he struck a guard rail.
The truck then collided with the car of Brooks and Parker, which was travelling northbound at the time.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue had to extract people from both vehicles.
Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene. Parker was taken to hospital where she was pronounced later. Boily was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Boily is in custody.
He's expected to have a bail hearing this weekend or early next week.
