NAKINA, ON — Ontario Provincial Police have laid criminal charges against a Nakina woman after a recent incident that led to a man's death.
Police say the victim, 24-year-old Adam Wiens of Atikokan, died after falling from the back of a moving pickup truck on June 27.
The incident occurred on Cordingley Lake Road in Nakina.
Paramedics pronounced Wiens dead at the scene.
Police said several other passengers in the vehicle, including some in the truck bed, escaped injury.
OPP have charged 36-year-old Erin McPherson with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and with failing to stop at an accident resulting in death.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Greenstone next month.
