THUNDER BAY - Winnipeg based illustration studio, Chasing Artwork, which features the Artwork of Justin Currie, an illustrator that uses techniques combining graphic designer training and traditional painting techniques in the coined style “Shattered Vector Painting”.

“Justin is a hugely talented artist,” said media director Heather Dickson. “And his work has been recognized by industry giants like Disney, Marvel and Netflix. But for us, the fact that he’s super friendly and Canadian makes him a real star!”

“We’ve assembled a great bunch of Canadian guests this year,” said ThunderCon chair, Kevin Taylor. “With COVID still affecting international travel, we figured it was smart to invite guests that wouldn’t have issues crossing borders, but also it gives us a chance to really shine the spotlight on some of our stellar Canadian talent this year.”

Currie is an internationally recognized artist, that has worked with Blizzard, Warhammer, Nickelodeon, Disney, Marvel, Netflix, and is a regular guest of comic conventions across Canada and the United States.

“As long as you're practicing, you’ll always be improving,” says Currie. “Your best piece will always be the next one. Keep chasing the artwork!”

This year Chasing Artwork is sponsored by Motors as the guest artist.

ThunderCon runs Sept. 17 and 18, at the CLE grounds. For more information, go to www.thundercon.org, or contact chair Kevin Taylor at [email protected].
