PEORIA, Ill. – The Thunder Bay Chill still control their own playoff destiny, but the hill they have to climb got a little steeper on Sunday night.

The Chill, in the midst of a four-game road trip, fell 3-0 to Peoria City, leaving them nine points out of the Deep North Division’s second playoff spot at 3-2-3.

Peoria City (6-2-3), who holds down that spot, got a first-half goal from Justin Freitas in the seventh minute and second-half tallies from Tim Ennin in the 73rd and Tal Segev put it away in extra time.

The Chill wrap up the road trip on Tuesday and Wednesday night against St. Croix and Minneapolis, before returning home for a pair against FC Manitoba on July 15 and July 16.

Peoria City, which has played four more games than Thunder Bay, will wrap up against undefeated Des Moines on July 16.
