THUNDER BAY – Chippewa Park is slated to reopen to the public on Friday.
The City of Thunder Bay on Thursday said the decision was made following consultation and communication with Fort William First Nation Chief Peter Collins, whose community has been closed to outside traffic for several weeks in an attempt to keep COVID-19 out.
The city release says not all amenities will be opened due to the provincial order, and gatherings should be limited to no more than five people.
Physical distancing and frequent hand-washing should be observed and anyone feeling ill should stay home.
Visitors must also follow restrictions put into place by Fort William First Nation and limit activity within the park.
