THUNDER BAY — The Salvation Army's 2019 Christmas Kettle campaign made up a lot of ground over just two weeks.
As of Christmas Eve, the drive had netted $213,625, just $6,400 short of the $220,000 objective.
On Dec. 11, the campaign was still more than $100,000 from its goal.
"We are so grateful for all of the support we have received ths year. We recognize that it is a sacrifice for many to give, both financially and of their time," said Major Lori Mitchell, Executive-Director of Community and Residential Services.
"Many people will benefit because of your selflessness," Mitchell added in a message to donors.
Donations to the kettle campaign will still be accepted after Christmas.
They can be dropped off at or mailed to the Thunder Bay Salvation Army office at 545 North Cumberland Street.
Donations may also be arranged over the phone (345-6492) or online through www.fillthekettle.com.
Contributions received by or postmarked by Dec. 31 are eligible for a tax receipt for the current year.
