Christmas tree collection depots open until Jan. 12

Trees can only be dropped off for recycling and won't be picked up during curbside waste collection.

THUNDER BAY – Christmas tree drop-off depots will be open until Jan. 12.

City officials on Thursday noted in a release there will be nine drop-off locations situated throughout Thunder Bay between now and the deadline, including five on the north side and four on the south side.

The locations are as follows:

North-side drop-off locations:

  • Brent Park (Balsam St at Margaret St)
  • County Park Tennis Courts (County Blvd)
  • Grandview Arena (Westminster United Church parking lot off Madeline Street)
  • John Jumbo Recreation Centre (Toivo St)
  • Strathcona Golf Course

South-side drop-off locations:

  • Delaney Arena (Legion Track Dr)
  • Kinsmen Northwood Centre (609 James St N)
  • Westfort Playing Field (off Neebing Ave)
  • West Thunder Community Centre (915 Edward St S)

Residents are reminded that Christmas trees are not picked up at curbside by waste collection crews.
