THUNDER BAY — In the wake of a 17-centimetre snowfall, the City of Thunder Bay has implemented calendar parking and priority route restrictions.

Calendar parking applies to residential streets.

Restrictions are in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., alternating daily from one side of the street to the other.

Priority routes are also being implemented for the winter.

This means no parking is allowed on roads with posted signs between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. every day.

The restrictions will be in effect until April 30, 2020.

Thunder Bay Parking Authority supervisor Jonathan Paske cautions that motorists who ignore the rules may pay a price.

"You're apt to bury your car, for one thing, but we will have our enforcement officers out. You could receive a calendar parking ticket for $55.00," Paske said.
