City of Thunder Bay Media Release

September 28, 2015 – The City of Thunder Bay unveiled the Implementation Plan for the approved 2015-2018 Corporate Strategic Plan Becoming our Best at today’s Committee of the Whole meeting.

The Implementation Plan sets out milestones, overall time frames, project leads and indicators of success. It provides a framework for moving forward the strategic actions that will further the Vision.

“The Strategic Plan will help Council and Administration make important decisions for the City of Thunder Bay and its citizens,” said Mayor Keith Hobbs. “We have worked hard to capture the key themes we heard from the community and to articulate a shared vision for where we need to head.”

Along with the Implementation Plan, new features were introduced, including:

• Dedicated microsite that displays the Strategic Plan and progress in a modern and responsive way
• Condensed, print version of the Plan to support City Council and Administration
• Newsletter that will be distributed at the first 120-day update and all progress reports
• New software (OnStrategy) that will be utilized for internal planning and performance

“Fundamentally, the Strategic Plan is about leadership and the Plan provides clear direction to Administration regarding Council’s priorities,” said Tim Commisso, City Manager. “The objective is to address change through a rational and structured framework, coupled with a dynamic vision.”
