City man arrested for pair of October robberies

THUNDER BAY -- City police have arrested a suspect in connection with a pair of robberies  reported earlier this month.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say officers arrested a man Friday, Oct. 24 for the Oct. 2 robbery of a Shell gas bar on Red River Road. The same suspect is believed to be connected to an Oct. 13 robbery of a Mac’s convenience store on Waterloo Street.

Police say officers saw the suspect walking on Windermere Street at about 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

Alexander James Geesic, 33, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with two counts of robbery, wearing a disguise with intent and two counts of breach of probation.

He remains in custody at the district jail.


None of the charges against the accused have been tested in court.
