THUNDER BAY — Police have laid multiple charges against a city man for alleged sexual assaults in which the victim was under the age of 16.
According to the Thunder Bay Police Service, the investigation began after police learned that a youth had been assaulted by an adult male at a residential address in the city.
A second incident involving the same accused and victim allegedly occurred three weeks later.
After identifying a suspect, police located and arrested him without incident on Monday in the 200 block of Red River Road.
A 27-year-old is charged with four counts of sexual assault on a person under the age of 16, four counts of sexual interference, and two counts of sexual assault.
He appeared in bail court Tuesday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
None of the charges has been tested in court.
