THUNDER BAY — The City of Thunder Bay has announced the temporary closure of numerous recreation facilities.

It's because of the late-season snowstorm that dumped 34 to 50 centimetres of heavy, wet snow on the area Tuesday and Wednesday.

Due to the severe conditions, the following Recreation and Culture facilities were closed as of Wednesday morning:

  • Canada Games Complex
  • Volunteer Pool
  • Water Garden Pavilion
  • 55 Plus Centre
  • West Arthur Community Centre

The city said additional closures might be announced throughout the day due as conditions warrant.
