THUNDER BAY -- A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Thunder Bay.

Environment Canada issued the warning on Saturday morning, saying their meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms that are capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

Utility outages are likely and the hail, if it materializes, could cause significant damage and injury.

If a thunderstorm approaches, officials at the government weather agency recommends taking immediat cover.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
