City police are warning residents of another new mail scam.
The scam begins with a letter asking for consumer research that also includes a fake cheque.
That fake cheque comes with instructions to deposit into your bank account before sending a portion of the money back to the sender.
Investigators with the Thunder Bay Police Service say they have reason to believe the scam originates from the Montreal area.
