Christmas tree drop off locations will be open by Boxing Day, the city announced Wednesday.
The City of Thunder Bay will have eight drop off locations for residents to recycle their natural Christmas trees following Christmas Day. Trees are ground into chips at the solid waste and recycling facility.
The chipped trees are then added to compost made from organic material collected during the spring and fall leaf and yard waste curbside collection. The final product is given away in the spring to help residents with their lawns and flower gardens.
City officials added that the West Thunder Community Centre drop off location will be closed this year because of the construction of the new Mary J. L. Black public library.
Below is a list for the south-side and north-side drop off locations.
