UPDATE: City responds to flood reports

City dealing with flood reports following heavy rain, melting snow.

THUNDER BAY -- Flooding due to snow melt and heavy rain has led to the closure of Fort William Road near the Moose Hall.

In its most recent weather response update, the City of Thunder Bay confirmed the closure of the road and stated stormwater is being carried over Fort William Road by portable pumps. 

Other reports of residential and commercial flooding are scattered throughout the city, however, no specific details about those reports are available at this time. 

The city suggest residents report areas of concern by contacting central dispatch, which is available 24-hours a day by phone at 625-2195, or email: publicworks@thunderbay.ca.

UPDATE:

8 :10 a.m. - Localized flooding has lead to the closure of 15th Side Road at Thunder Road. Mountain Road is also closed between Tuxedo and Broad Oaks Drive.
