City seeks submissions for Arts and Heritage Awards

The achievements and contributions of local artists and historians, cultural professionals, organizations and supporters will be celebrated.

THUNDER BAY – The achievements and contributions of local artists and historians, cultural professionals, organizations and supporters will be celebrated at the 8th Annual Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards, presented by the Copperfin Credit Union, on Feb. 23, 2018, at Magnus Theatre. The awards show is sponsored by CBC Thunder Bay and Magnus Theatre.

Submissions are now being accepted in a wide range of categories from music, film and heritage to cultural sponsor and lifetime achievement. In total, there are 16 award categories. The awards application/nomination form can be accessed at thunderbay.ca/cultureawards or at thetrunk.org.

“Every day we can see the arts and cultural sector playing a vital role in Thunder Bay,” said Ash Young, Cultural Development & Events Supervisor.

“These awards recognize and celebrate the importance of this sector, from emerging youth to organizations, professional and lifetime achievements.”

The City has partnered with Magnus Theatre for the second year in a row to host a professional awards show in celebration of the best of Thunder Bay’s cultural sector. The show will include diverse performances.
