A delegation with the City of Thunder Bay will be meeting with several provincial ministers at the Association of Ontario Municipalities conference in Ottawa next week.
The five-member delegation includes Westfort Coun. Joe Virdiramo, Red River Coun. Brian McKinnon, at-large Coun. Ken Boshcoff, city manager Tim Commisso and policy researcher Laury Alexander.
The top priorities for the city's delegation are the Golf Links-Junot corridor, phase three of the proposed Thunder Bay event centre, the Advantage Northwest Mining Readiness Strategy and the future of the Thunder Bay Generating Station.
"The AMO conference is an invaluable opportunity for municipalities like Thunder Bay," said Virdiramo, chair of the inter-governmental affairs committee, in a media release.
The city was granted a meeting with each minister they requested, which Virdiramo said is rare and a critical opportunity.
The city will meet PC Leader Tim Hudak and the following ministers:

- Minister of Economic Development Trade & Employment Eric Hoskins
- Minister of Energy Bob Chiarelli
- Minister of Infrastructure & Transportation Glen Murray
- Minister of Labour Yasir Naqvi
- Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing Linda Jeffrey
- Minister of Northern Development & Mines Michael Gravelle
- Minister of Tourism Michael Chan
- Minister of Health & Long-Term Care Deb Matthews
