The City of Thunder Bay is inviting residents to sign a book of condolences for the families of victims of the tragic train derailment disaster in Lac-Mégantic, Que.

City officials say the book will be available for signing until July 19, housed in the foyer at City Hall.

Mayor Keith Hobbs is also sending letters of condolence to the mayor and council of the small community, where 15 people are known to be dead and as many as 60 are missing and unaccounted for after a train loaded with oil tankers exploded in the heart of the community’s business district early last Saturday.
