THUNDER BAY -- City council is being asked to keep bikes lanes near a North side condominium as is despite a petition from people who live there.

On Monday council will hear from residents at Condominium 50 on Adelaide Street asking that the city either reconfigure the bike lane to provide on-street parking for the condo building. But city staff say the road isn't wide enough for both parking and the current bike lane.

Administration also points out that there were no concerns when information on the bike lane was sent out in 2013. There are also several places where condo owners can't lease parking nearby.

A petition from the building, with around 30 signatures, first headed to council in July.
