THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is holding four public-input sessions designed to shape its next community safety well-being plan.
It will culminate on Sept. 27 with a community safety and well being forum at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium, that will bring the public together to explore ideas, set priorities and celebrate community actions.
The city, in a release issued on Monday, said it will spend the next five months engaging with residents, local organizations and community partners to create a shared roadmap toward a stronger Thunder Bay.
“The CSWB Plan is about co-creating solutions,” said Louisa Costanzo, manager of community safety and well-being.
“By listening to residents and partners, we can set clear priorities and work toward long-term changes that reflect our community’s needs.”
The plan aims to make the city safer, healthier and more connected for everyone.
“Your voice matters. Attend a pop-up, take the online survey, and join us at the forum — together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more connected Thunder Bay,” Costanzo said.
A series of community pop-ups will be held in August and September, a chance for the public to share ideas and connect with others.
Fun activities will also be held at the same time.
The community pop-up schedule includes:
- Aug. 20: City Hall, from 11:30 to 1 p.m.
- Aug. 27: Minnesota Park (share ideas with activities for families and neighbours)
- Sept. 10: Paterson Park (add your voice and community art activity)
- Sept. 17: Dease Park (share your ideas and music and connection with neighbours)
The rain location for all events will be the city hall lobby.
An online survey will also be available, starting on Aug. 20, at www.thunderbay.ca/getinvolved.
