THUNDER BAY – Members of the public will have a chance next week to weigh in on the proposed new Chapples indoor turf facility.
The city will be holding a public information and feedback session at the Italian Cultural Centre on April 25 beginning at 6:30 p.m. to gather input on the proposed design, event hosting and fundraising opportunities of the project, which has had price tag estimates ranging from $25 million to $30 million.
The facility would include one FIFA regulation sized pitch, which could be divided into two or four smaller fields. It would also have the potential for a future expansion that could house an indoor tennis centre.
Proposed site and facility design concepts will be available at the meeting.
Feedback generated from the session will be included in a report presented to city council in June.
