THUNDER BAY – The city of Thunder Bay is under a heat warning, with temperatures expected to hit 29 C and humidex values projected to hit between 36 C and 39 C.
The warning is in place through Saturday evening.
The public is encouraged to protect themselves and other, with Environment Canada noting extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.
The government weather agency urges the public to watch for early sign of heat exhaustion, which can include headache, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue.
Heat stroke is another danger and if one sees someone exhibiting signs, call 911 or the nearest emergency health provider. Signs include red and hot skin, dizziness, nausea, confusion and change in consciousness.
Try to cool anyone showing signs of heat stroke while awaiting medical attention.
