Despite a small dip in October’s statistics, housing-start numbers continue to look positive in the Thunder Bay area.
Officials with Canada Mortgage and Housing say there were 25 new, single-detached home starts in October. While that’s slightly less than October of last year, it is still seven more than the 10-year average.
As for the year-to-date numbers, there have been 181 new homes built, along with 14 multi-unit residences in the city.
That is up by about 23 per cent over 2009’s pace.
