Police seized fentanyl and cocaine, and arrested three people including a Toronto youth, following the search of a north-side home Friday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Emergency Task and Intelligence Units, along with support from the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, executed a search warrant at about 3:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22 at a residential address in the 300 block of Ambrose Street.
The search warrant came as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity from that home.
When police entered the home they located three suspects – two males and a female. During their investigation, police learned an adult male they had arrested lied about his identity.
All three accused were transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
As a result of their search, police located and seized a quantity of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Helen Estelle CHARETTE, 42, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Shaun Reol EVERETT, 39, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release
A 17-year-old Toronto male is charged with:
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
The youth cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three appeared in bail court on Saturday, Jan. 23. The Toronto youth and CHARETTE were remanded into custody, while EVERETT was released with conditions, with future appearance dates.
