Thunder Bay Police are investigating what appears to be another series of thefts from coin operated laundry machines in the city.
Over the past month, several apartment buildings have had their machines broken into to access the coins inside.
City police say the incidents seem to be related and appear to be mainly in the Arthur Street area. Police spokesman Chris Adams says the south side of the city was hit again last night just before 9 p.m. The building's superintendent caught the intruder, but the suspect managed to escape.
Adams said the incidents have resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to the machines, and he reminds tenants to be careful who they let into their buildings.
Adams added that the suspect is a male in his early twenties, about five-foot-four inches, and was last seen wearing a black toque, dark blue ski jacket and jogging pants.
Anyone with information is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
