FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – Incumbent Chief Peter Collins heads a list of four people seeking the top elected position on Fort William First Nation.

Collins, Leo Bannon, Walter Bannon and Kyle MacLaurin each filed to run for chief in the 2017 band election, scheduled for April 8.

Collins was elected most recently in 2015, ousting former chief Georjan Morriseau.

A total of 33 residents filed to run for the 12 council positions up for grabs. Ten of the 12 incumbents are in the field.
