SHABAQUA CORNERS – A collision between a pick-up truck and a transport trailer west of the city of Thunder Bay sent at least one person to hospital.
The collision took place at the intersection of Highways 11 and 17 at approximately 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police officers on the scene said there were no fatalities, though the driver of the transport trailer was airlifted to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
Both vehicles suffered severe damage. The transport left the highway and came to a rest at the bottom of a small ravine, a section of the pick-up embedded on the front of the larger vehicle.
