THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police say one motorist has been charged in connection with a collision Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 61 and Chippewa Road.

It's unknown if there were any injuries.

Few details are available, but Ontario 511 reported that multiple vehicles were involved in the incident, and that an off-ramp was fully closed.

Traffic was disrupted while police investigated and until the collision scene was cleared.

A tow truck was observed arriving shortly before 4 p.m. to remove a badly-damaged SUV.

An OPP spokesperson said the intersection was then fully reopened.
