Collision on Highway 502 claims one life

FORT FRANCES, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police say one person died in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 502.

The victim, a passenger in a southbound vehicle which collided with a northbound vehicle, died at the scene.

Both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Highway 502, which connects Highways 11 and 17, was closed for eight hours before it was reopened late Tuesday night.

The collision occurred east of Fort Frances, about 20 kilometres north of Highway 11.
