Collision on Simpson Street sends man to hospital

Police say a vehicle struck a 44-year-old man while he attempted to cross the street on crutches. Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the collision happened at the intersection of Simpson Street and Northern Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say a vehicle struck a 44-year-old man while he attempted to cross the street on crutches.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the collision happened at the intersection of Simpson Street and Northern Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday. Police say the man appeared intoxicated and tried to cross the street on crutches when he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
