THUNDER BAY - A motor vehicle collision that resulted in one vehicle being flipped upside down has sent one person to hospital.
The collision occurred just before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of James Street and Arthur Street.
The traffic lights were flashing red in all directions. According to Thunder Bay Police Service Const. Jody Bellemare, a blazer was facing eastbound on Arthur and a car was facing northbound on James Street.
“At this time we are not sure exactly what happened, but somehow they both ended up in the intersection at the same time and collided with each other and the blazer ended up upside down,” Bellemare said on the scene of the collision.
A male driver of the blazer was taken to hospital with what police say were cuts and scrapes.
Police said he was later charged with failing to stop at a blinking red light.
