One of the oldest motels along Arthur Street is about to come crashing down.
The former Ritz Motel was purchased by Bruno's Contracting over a year ago. The company is now salvaging the old bricks and preparing the building for demolition next week.
Last June, officials with Bruno's obtained a zoning amendment from the city for the property to allow for either a strip mall, or perhaps a new motel there. No one from Bruno's was available for comment Tuesday regarding their plans for redevelopment.
