Community groups renewed for annual funding from city council

The agencies are required to report back to the city on their progress annually and outline how they are implementing their strategies.

THUNDER BAY — A trio of community organizations are going to continue getting some funds from city council. 

At Monday's council meeting, it was confirmed that three local organizations are going to receive $50,000 each from the city for their community-based strategies. 

The Lakehead Social Planning Council's Poverty Reduction Strategy, Roots Community Food Centre's Thunder Bay & Area Food Strategy, and Age Friendly Thunder Bay will continue to receive annual funding. 

Lakehead Social Planning Council will receive an additional $15,000 for its Incident Reporting and Referral Services. 

The agencies are required to report back to the city on their progress annually and outline how they are implementing their strategies.
