Complaints ignored by Ornge, paramedic tells legislative committee

A former paramedic with Ornge says no one would listen to his complaints about the air ambulance service when he raised red flags three years ago.

A former paramedic with Ornge says no one would listen to his complaints about the air ambulance service when he raised red flags three years ago.

Trevor Kidd told a legislative committee that he quit Ornge in 2009 after the death of a teenage girl from Northwestern Ontario.

Kidd says Ornge "robbed'' the girl of any chance of surviving, by not properly staffing their aircraft or sending them in a timely manner.

His testimony comes in the wake of confidential documents showing the government investigated 26 deaths and 145 incidents involving Ornge since 2007.
