Condition still serious

A 54-year-old man in a wheelchair who collided with a taxi cab Saturday evening has been flown to Winnipeg for medical treatment.

Around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, the man operating the wheelchair was crossing Memorial Avenue in front of the Money Mart when he was struck by a taxicab.

“He was flown to Winnipeg for medical treatment and at last report, prior to his departure, was still in serious condition,” said police spokesman Chris Adams.

The man was flown to Winnipeg Sunday for surgery. His condition is currently unknown.

No charges have been laid as a result of this incident

Police say the collision is still being considered an open investigation.
