Conservatory closed after more falling glass discovered

More falling glass issues have led to the closure of the Centennial Botanical Conservatory.

More falling glass issues have led to the closure of the Centennial Botanical Conservatory.

According to a city news release, it was discovered Friday afternoon that a malfunctioning roof vent resulted in several glass panels breaking with shards falling from the ceiling into a safety net in the Tropical House viewing area.

There were no injuries as a result and the cause is currently unknown.

The conservatory is expected to re-open early next week.

The facility had previously re-opened in February after being closed for nearly a year due to concerns about falling glass.

The city had spent $76,000 to install a safety net to protect against falling glass.
