THUNDER BAY -- Sections of three busy Thunder Bay roadways will be closed starting next week.

City officials advised westbound lanes of Red River Road from High Street about 100 metres west will be closed starting some time next week for sidewalk and retaining wall repairs.

That closure is expected to last about eight weeks or until work is complete.

Across the Thunder Bay Expressway, Dawson Road will be closed to one lane of traffic between Hunter Road and Hazelwood Drive starting on Tuesday for repaving work.

That closure is anticipated to be in effect for three weeks.

As well, High Street will again be closed between Bay and John streets to finish construction of the retaining wall. The portion of Cornwall Avenue immediately above the wall will also be shut down.

That closure is scheduled to last six weeks.
