THUNDER BAY -- A section of a major arterial road in Thunder Bay will be completely shut down for five weeks, starting Thursday.
A trunk watermain is being installed on Central Avenue, between Golf Links Road and Amber Drive.
City engineering officials say they had hoped to keep one lane open during the construction, but the nature of the project made it unsafe.
The $700,000 job is being carried out by Makkinga Contracting and should be complete by the end of June.
