Details are just coming to light now about a train derailment near Sioux Lookout over the weekend.
Officials from CN Rail now confirm that 29 cars went off the tracks on Saturday morning.
The derailment occurred about 16 kilometres from the Lac Seul First Nation.
Chief Clifford Bull says he went to the remote site to see what was happening, because he was concerned about contamination of their traditional territory.
He and other band officials then flew over the scene and took these photos.
Bull says he saw three overturned tanker cars, and what appeared to be a containment berm being set up.
CN spokesman Patrick Waldron says there were no leaks or any other threat to the environment.
The track was re-opened on Sunday morning, and crews remain on scene as of today, removing the damaged freight cars.
