THUNDER BAY -- A 24-year-old man has turned himself into police and has been charged with robbery after a convenience store holdup last week.

The Mac's store on Edward Street had been robbed on Aug. 14 by a suspect wielding a knife, who threatened the two employees before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. Nobody was injured and police released surveillance footage of the suspect the next day.

Police were contacted by the suspect early Saturday morning to make arrangements to turn himself in for arrest. Officers met him in the Vale Avenue and Limbrick Street area where he was taken in to custody.

The suspect appeared in court during the weekend and is charged with robbery. He remains in custody.
