THUNDER BAY -- City police made quick work recently following a convenience store robbery in Northwood.

In a release issued on Friday detailing an incident that took place a week ago, police said officers arrived at the Circle K on North Edward Street at 7:57 p.m. last Friday after receiving reports of a robbery.

Thirteen minutes later a detective with the community response team located a woman matching the description of the suspect.

A further investigation determined a woman had earlier entered the store and brought a number of items to the counter for purchase, only to allegedly pull a knife, demanding money.

The female suspect then took off running southward on Edward Street before being arrested.

Thunder Bay's Ashley Lambert, 26, was charged with robbery.

The stolen money was returned to the store.
