THUNDER BAY -- City council will be asked to support continued door-to-door mail delivery Monday.
Joanne Nowosad, president of the local Canadian Union of Postal Workers wants council to write the federal government and Canada Post to oppose the the plan to eliminate door-to-door service, which will be completely phased out by 2019.
Nowosad will make a presentation highlighting the possible negative impacts of removing the service. She's also asking that Canada Post conduct consultation with the public and municipalities.
