THUNDER BAY -- The city is looking merge its target EMS response times for Thunder Bay and the district.
Superior North EMS serves the city along with 14 other municipalities, 12 First Nations communities and various unorganized areas. It currently has separate response time targets for the city and the rest of the region.
While it's surpassing all of its targets within the city, two out of the six categories measured for the district aren't being met, largely due to imperfect data collection and low call volumes.
A report heading to city council Monday suggests the city do away with separate district targets.
Also Monday, city council will get a lot inventory report. The province calls for a three year supply of lots for cities, currently being met for Thunder Bay. Including subdivisions in draft approvals, the number more than triples.
It also states that urban infill is on the rise as of the 181 houses built in 2014, more than 50 per cent were infill dwellings.
