The sale of at least one city-owned golf course is looking very possible.
This past week, six members of council announced they would favour limiting the city's role in the local golf sector. A consultant's report on the retention or sale of one or all three of the city-owned courses will be presented at city hall tonight.
If council chooses to reduce the number of courses, city administration will recommend closing Municipal Golf Course.
According to the review, that course is valued at nearly $1.2 million. No decisions will be made on Monday night.
The City Manager will present what's referred to as a first report in order to give council and the public time to consider the implications.
McIntyre Ward Coun. Trevor Giertuga favours the selling of Municipal, a course the city pays taxes to Oliver Paipoonge to run.
Representatives from the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute will also come before Council tonight to speak about the economic impact of the Institute.
