THUNDER BAY -- City communications and the future of regional paramedic services are on the agenda at Thunder Bay city council Monday night.

A communication and engagement plan is scheduled to be presented for council's approval. The plan outlines best practices for public engagement, citizen consultations, and communicating information to the public.

Meanwhile Superior-North EMS will be informing council that it intends to reduce the number of non-urgent patient transfers that it handles in the next year. Read more about that issue here.

While response times have not been affected, EMS officials say increasing call volume means they need to prioratize their 9-1-1 service.

Council is also set to receive a new way-finding plan from the city tourism department.

That plan outlines ways the city can improve signage to help tourists get around town.
