THUNDER BAY -- Funny money is making the rounds.

In a release issued on Thursday afternoon, a Thunder Bay Police Services spokeswoman says counterfeit American $50 bills have been found in deposits to several financial institutions between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17.

“Police are urging employers to educate their staff on the security features of American currency so that it may be checked at the point of sale. Should a possible counterfeit bill be presented by a customer, the police should be called to be able to follow up the investigation,” Const. Julie Tilbury said in the release.
