UPDATED: COVID-19 case count falls in the Thunder Bay district

THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district dropped slightly on Tuesday.

The district health unit reported no new active cases since Monday, and two resolved cases.

This dropped the caseload from 17 to 15.

Two district residents remain in hospital for treatment of COVID-19, including one in intensive care.

In the Northwestern Health Unit, headquartered in Kenora, the most recent data shows nine active cases, including seven in Rainy River district and two in the Sioux Lookout area.

The NWHU on Monday declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Emo area, affecting unvaccinated individuals specifically.
